2026-09-20
Bench seating can fit more guests along a wall, but chairs give more flexibility. Here is how to choose.
Why restaurants use bench seating
A wall bench seats more guests per metre than separate chairs and gives a room a clear edge. It also lets you use one long piece for a row of tables, which keeps the interior consistent.
Where chairs still win
Chairs can be moved, so you can reconfigure tables for larger groups. They also suit open floors where guests need to enter from any side.
Combine both
Many restaurants run benches along the walls and chairs in the middle. Just make sure seat height and table height match across both.
Custom lengths and upholstery
Every wall is a different length, so bench seating is often ordered by length or made to size. Tell us your wall measurements and the look you want, and contact our team to discuss availability and customisation requirements.
